Misura circa 110 mm di lunghezza standard. Questa specie fu riconosciuta per la prima volta nel 1930 da John Roxborough Norman.

Diffusione

Si trova in tutti gli oceani tranne il Pacifico settentrionale nella zona mesopelagica delle acque tropicali e subtropicali.
